Privacy Policy

The short version

We store what you need to have a desk: your Google name, email and photo, your handle, and what you put on your desk. We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't use tracking cookies.

What we store

• Your account: the name, email address and profile photo Google shares when you sign in, and the handle you pick.
• Your desk: the items on it (notes, links, photos, stickers, props), where they sit, and your desk settings.
• Images you upload: photos and stickers, plus a preview picture of your desk that we make automatically for link previews and Community.
• Things you send us: feature requests, and your email if you join the PRO waitlist.
• Sign-in sessions: a login cookie, and the IP address and browser of each session, to keep your account secure.
• On your device: if you use the desk without an account, it's saved in your browser's local storage, not on our servers.

Google account data

When you sign in with Google, we only receive your name, email address and profile photo. We use them only to create your account and show your name and photo on your desk. We don't sell Google data, use it for ads, or share it with third parties. Deskorama's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What is public

Your desk at deskorama.app/@handle is public: anyone with the link can see it, along with your name, photo and handle. Public desks can appear in Community, in search engines and in link previews. Setting your desk to Private hides it from Community and search engines, but anyone with the link can still open it.

Who helps us run Deskorama

• Google: sign-in, and Google Cloud Storage for uploaded images and desk previews.
• Railway: hosting for the app and the database.
• Umami: cookieless visit statistics (pages viewed, referrer, country and device type). It doesn't build profiles of individual visitors.

When you add a link, our server visits that page once to read its title and icon. When PRO launches, payments will be handled by a payment provider; we'll update this page before that happens.

Why we use your data

Only to run Deskorama: show your desk, keep you signed in, prevent abuse, and answer you when you write to us. We'll email you about the PRO waitlist only if you joined it.

Retention and security

We keep your data while you have an account. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and everything on your desk. Email hello@deskorama.app from the address you signed in with.

Children

Deskorama is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes will be announced in the app.
